What is my phone

What Android phone do I have?

Chrome on Android can share a model code. This page turns that code into the name on the box. If the browser stays quiet, Settings still has the name.

Where each brand prints it

  • Samsung

Settings → About phone → Model name. The row under it, Model number, is the SM- code.

  • Pixel

Settings → About phone → Model. It already says Pixel 8, Pixel 9 Pro, or whichever you have.

  • Other Android

Settings → About phone, or Settings → System → About phone. Look for Model name, Model, or Model number.

Android questions

Which browsers share the Android model?

Chrome on Android usually does, including the model code. Samsung Internet often does too. Firefox, and browsers inside Instagram, Facebook, and many other apps, usually do not. If the card only says Android phone, you are in one of those.

Why does it say Android 10 when my phone is newer?

Chrome froze the Android version in the old user-agent string at Android 10. The page ignores that frozen 10 and uses the version Chrome shares separately, when it shares one. If it cannot, it says Android without a number rather than the wrong one.

Where is the model on a Samsung?

Settings → About phone → Model name, for the Galaxy name. Model number is the SM- code. Software information is a different screen — that one is the Android and One UI version, not the phone.

Where is the model on a Pixel?

Settings → About phone → Model. It usually reads Pixel 8 or Pixel 9 Pro, which is already the name people use. The hardware codename is not what you need.
